Frequently asked questions

What documents do I need to enter Qatar with an E-Visa?

You will need a passport valid for at least 3 months from your date of arrival, proof of accommodation (a confirmed hotel booking or a Host Family/Friends authorisation), a confirmed return flight ticket, and your approved Qatar E-Visa. Border officers may request to see any of these on arrival.

How long does the Qatar E-Visa take to process?

Processing times are not fixed and may vary depending on the volume of applications and the authorities' review. We strongly recommend applying well in advance of your travel date. You will be notified by email at every stage of your application — submitted, under review, and approved.

Can I extend my Qatar E-Visa once inside the country?

Yes. Extensions are processed in person at the Directorate of Passports counter at Hamad International Airport. The extension request must be made before your current Qatar E-Visa expires — overstaying may result in fines.

I just renewed my passport — do I need to update my Qatar E-Visa?

Yes. Update your application with the new passport number, expiry date, and a copy of the new passport bio page. A new E-Visa will be reissued matching the new passport. Always travel with documents that match — mismatched details can result in boarding denial at the airport.

Can I work in Qatar on an E-Visa?

No. The Qatar E-Visa is strictly for visit purposes (tourism, family visit, or business meetings). Visitors are not legally permitted to work in the State of Qatar on this visa. Employment requires a separate work permit sponsored by a Qatar-based employer.

What happens if my Qatar E-Visa application is rejected?

If a reason is disclosed by the authorities, it will appear on your application dashboard. Visa approval is at the sole discretion of the Qatari authorities. Our team will review your case and guide you on the next steps, including reapplication where eligible.

Can I bring my children under 18 on my Qatar E-Visa?

Yes. Children under 18 can be added as dependents on your application with their own personal information and passport copies. Each adult companion travelling with you must apply for their own separate Qatar E-Visa.

How long can I stay in Qatar on an E-Visa?

The standard Qatar E-Visa typically permits a stay of up to 30 days from the date of entry, with the option to extend for an additional 30 days from inside Qatar. Always check your specific visa approval letter for the exact validity and duration of stay granted.
